Real stories from Bradford and West Yorkshire drivers who've been rescued from tyre emergencies by our mobile service.

Sarah's Morning Flat Tyre in Shipley

Sarah, a nurse from Shipley, woke to find a flat tyre on her Ford Focus at 6:15am — 45 minutes before she needed to leave for a shift at Bradford Royal Infirmary. She called Motorway Mobile Tyres and a technician was at her BD18 home by 6:55am. The puncture was in the rear nearside tyre from a roofing nail — too close to the sidewall to repair safely. The technician fitted a new Hankook tyre, balanced it, and was done by 7:08am. Sarah made it to her shift with minutes to spare. "I didn't even know mobile tyre fitting was a thing until that morning," she said. "I'll never go to a garage again."

Ahmed's M606 Blowout at Rush Hour

Ahmed was driving his Volkswagen Passat on the M606 northbound at 8:20am when a rear tyre suffered a sudden blowout near the Bradford south junction. He managed to steer safely onto the hard shoulder, activated his hazard lights, and called Motorway Mobile Tyres immediately. Our Bradford technician was on scene in 32 minutes. The tyre had suffered a catastrophic failure from impact damage — a Continental replacement was fitted on the hard shoulder using full safety protocols, with our van blocking between Ahmed's car and the traffic lanes. Ahmed was back on the road in time to reach his 9:30am Leeds meeting. He has since set up a fleet account for his Bradford-based sales team's vehicles.

The Parker Family's Winter Keighley Rescue

In January, the Parker family from Keighley were returning home on a Sunday evening when they got a slow puncture on the B6265 approaching BD20. With two young children in the car and temperatures at -3°C, changing the wheel themselves in the dark on a rural road was not an option. They called Motorway Mobile Tyres at 8:45pm. Our on-call Bradford technician reached them in 38 minutes, bringing the BD20 route into the coverage area of our regular evening patrol. A new Michelin was fitted in under 20 minutes by torchlight and the family were home before 10pm. "The speed, professionalism, and the fact someone actually answered the phone at that hour made all the difference," Mr Parker told us afterwards.
